15 December 2009 - Part 1

Had Kue Bingka for our breakfast on this day. For my own opinion, this cake is too sweet, but taste nice.

Relatives come from Batam (Batam is a small island in Indonesia, located just nearby Singapore, around 1 hour travel by sea). They intend to go to the Ayani Mega Mall to shop.....OMG...this mega mall again.....so boringggggggggggggg, but no choice.

They decide to have lunch before start shopping. Lets look at the menu we ordered....

(Chicken Fried Kueh Tiaw)

(Sambal / Chili Sauce)

(Bakso Jumbo - the Bakso is actually the beef meatball)

(Stir fry kangkung --> kangkung = Ipomoea aquatica?)

(Mix Veggie in soup serving)

(Stir fry mix vege)

(Fried Squid)

(Empek empek served with the mixture of soya sauce+vinegar+cucumber)

(Es Rumput Laut)

(Es Kopyor)

(Es Jaya Ria)

Time to home, on the way back....suddenly feel wanna get some ice cream from the ice cream stall located just opposite of my secondary school.

(Kelepon Kentang - made from potato with brown sugar as the filling)

(Kue Sus)

(Vanilla, Strawberry, Chocolate)

14 December 2009

Still from the Ayani Mega Mall.....Yogen Früz - this ice cream stall is just located next to the escalator on the right wing of the ground floor shopping mall.

We ordered blended ice cream, Blackberry and Strawberry, regular cup. Each regular cup of ice cream is blended from a small cube of ice cream and 4 pcs of fruits (blackberries and strawberries). Rp20000 for regular cup, Rp28000 for large cup, and Rp42000 for extra large cup.

(Blackberry blended ice cream)

(Strawberry blended ice cream)

Now heading to KFC to try its new menu, Hot Black Pepper Chicken. We get the Small Feast bucket which contains 5 pcs of chickens, 3 rices, and 3 drinks. The french fries is just the add on menu ^^.

(Tomato sauce and chili sauce)

Xmas reindeer hanging on the 2nd floor's ceiling.

Night time, went to Gajah Mada street, my fren took a pic of the fruit stall there.

Lumpia, is almost the same as Poh Piah in Kuching, Malaysia. The difference is that Lumpia is fried one, so the outer wrapper becomes crispy. We got this from the snack stall at the road side of Gajah Mada street.

This mixture of egg + a bit of beef + onion + garlic + celery + a bit of salt ^^, all wrapped up using Martabak skin, is called Martabak, and served with cucumber + chili.

12 December 2009

My little christmas tree...a christmas gift from my daddy a few years ago....

...................................................

On 12 December 2009, I went to a shopping mall with my fren, Ayani Mega Mall, in my hometown (Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia). This is the biggest shopping mall (currently) in my hometown. Went there and tried the food there for so many times, but never took pic before. Now, since my friend did bring camera, so i just took some pic of those foods we tried.

K-Patats, this small food stall serves a small variety of fried snack, e.g.: pat-fries, pat-puff, etc (forgot the menu hehehe). We just tried the Pat-Fries. Pat-Fries is actually french fries served with assorted toppings (cheese, mayonnaise, chili sauce, tomato sauce, bbq shake, etc)....we can choose the toppings you like for your order...and also can mix all toppings together if we like it.

This is the Pat-Fries we ordered with Chili sauce, mayonnaise, and cheese toppings.

The pic below is Siomay Bandung. Contains potato, tofu with fish filling, egg, steam cabbage, and the Siomay itself. Not sure whether it is fish meat or what....but taste nice. It served with sweet soya sauce, tomato sauce, and chili sauce. This is one of my favourite food in the mall's food court.

Pepes Nasi + Pepes Cumi Balado......the long one is Pepes Nasi, and the one in square shaped is Pepes Cumi Balado.

What's inside?

This is the Pepes Nasi after being unwrapped. It is filled with mushrooms and some peanuts.

This one is Pepes Cumi Balado (cumi = squid ; balado = chili) ----> kind of spicy.....

Drinks we ordered: Dragon Fruit Smoothie --> dragon fruit blended with milk.....

Es Shanghai ---> just like ABC Special in Malaysia.........

The view from our table...

Pets' pics taken on this day....hehehe...(Poppy, Popo, and Bum Bum)
